Welcome to The Good Listening Project!

In partnership with the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) we are offering a limited number of sessions with our Listener Poets through June 2021.

A Listener Poet talks with a clinician at Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C., January 2020

Our goal is to support wellbeing for the overburdened medical community and showcase the value of the arts in healthcare. We will be presenting at AAMC’s annual meeting to highlight the healing power of its arts-based service. You can learn more about their ongoing initiative here.

This project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. To find out more about how National Endowment for the Arts grants impact individuals and communities, visit www.arts.gov.

From my standpoint as a physician, it really turned the tables to have someone really listen to me. It’s usually my job to listen to my patients.

I walked out feeling a small amount of joy I hadn’t felt before in my heart.
