About The Good Listening Project

The Good Listening Project (TGLP) is a medical humanities nonprofit that uses poetry and compassionate presence to humanize healthcare. Our Listener Poets partner with hospitals, healthcare institutions, and other organizations to create spaces where stories are heard, experiences are honored, and the power of words helps heal and strengthen cultures of care.

About This Role

We’re seeking a strategic, action-oriented leader to help secure sustainable funding and expand our impact. Over the past six years, TGLP has grown from a bold idea into a nationally recognized nonprofit, bringing deep listening and poetry to people across healthcare. Now, we’re at a pivotal moment: we’ve built strong partnerships and are starting to prove our impact—now we need dedicated leadership to drive financial sustainability and long-term growth.

Your Focus Areas (Based on Your Strengths & Expertise)

  • Fundraising & Donor Engagement – Cultivate donor relationships, lead fundraising campaigns, and grow our base of supporters.

  • Grant Writing & Institutional Funding – Identify, write, and manage grants to secure funding from foundations and institutional partners.

  • Business & Partnership Development – Build strategic relationships with healthcare organizations, professional networks, and mission-aligned businesses.

Our Big Goals Right Now

  • Expand Our Funding Base – Increase unrestricted funding and diversify revenue streams by strengthening donor engagement and developing new philanthropic and corporate partnerships. Our primary fundraising priority for 2025 is supporting the launch of our new Caregiver Haven program.

  • Scale Our Presence in Healthcare – Reach more institutions, decision-makers, and networks through strategic partnerships and sponsorships.

  • Deepen Program Impact – Enhance our ability to measure and communicate our impact to funders, stakeholders, and the broader healthcare community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build & Cultivate Relationships – Develop and maintain strong connections with donors, funders, healthcare leaders, and institutional partners.

  • Engage & Communicate Impact – Craft compelling stories, proposals, and materials to communicate TGLP’s mission and impact.

  • Grant & Funding Development – Identify funding opportunities, write proposals, and manage reporting to sustain investment in our work.

  • Fundraising & Donor Engagement – Develop creative fundraising strategies and steward individual and institutional donors.

  • Healthcare & Business Partnerships – Expand collaborations with hospitals, professional organizations, and mission-aligned partners.

  • Increase Visibility – Represent TGLP at conferences, networking events, and meetings to strengthen our presence and attract new supporters.

Who You Are

You are a strategic thinker, strong writer, and relationship-builder who thrives in a small, purpose-driven nonprofit. You’re comfortable working autonomously, adapting to new challenges, and wearing multiple hats.
